Morning after?
Chris was still not sure exactly how it happened. They had found the others, Burton, Valentine and Chambers had all managed to make it to a hangar, Chris had only spotted them because Vickers had returned with the chopper.
Chambers still had her medical bag over her shoulder too. Chris had left Sabin and Hannah at the edge of the clearing, intent on going to get them help. He didn’t expect the large humanoid form that had barreled into them from somewhere below. Vicker’s kicked the rocket launcher Chris’s way. He had managed to catch it, shouting at Valentine and Chambers to go help the other two.
That was when the ground gave away. He glanced up seeing Barry pulling Hannah into the chopper. The Tyrant was moving too fast for him to get a good lead on it. Scrambling on the uneven floor of the hanger bay Chris tried to get far enough from it to take the shot.
“Vickers get them out of here!” Chris yelled seeing no other choice in the matter.
What he didn’t expect was to wake up, lying in a bed. His head was ringing, but something told him he was alive at least. Sitting up he tried to remember exactly what happened. That’s when his eyes fell on the ring on his hand. A green one he remembered vaguely on Sabin’s hand. Scrambling from the bed he needed answers, and had a feeling Flowers had them. Now he had to find her.
You'd think he'd remember to at least put real pants on. Sorry about the boxers.

"I'll go, try to figure out what needs my attention more. I'm not going to abandon S.T.A.R.S., but I'm not going to endanger them more than I have to." Chris really wanted his team out of the city. With Wesker gone, meant that Irons could easily put the blame of the situation on them, and knowing the slime ball, he was probably already working on that as the two of them spoke.

She considers this a bit. "I'm not certain but I think he gives Lanterns more leeway so he can see how they handle things. Anyways, we'll have a few days to work this all out."

"We'll make it work. This thing chose me because it thought I was worthy who am I to say no right? Though, hope you don't mind I avoid wearing it for now. Just today at least."
"Then that gives me time to try to get as many people out of here as possible." He was pretty sure that putting Chambers in charge of that would help.

She quirks a sad smile. "Just tell me what you need of me. I'll do my best to help. I have the training to do a great deal. All will be well, Chris."
She's still sad looking but there is a sudden seriousness to her and an inner strength showing through.

"Right now, any good with a kitchen knife? We'll figure everything else out after we eat and I catch up with Jill and Barry."

"I'm sure they have ideas on what we can do. Besides..." She slips her ring off and slowly she looks less like a Blue Lantern and more like a plainly dressed girl. "I'm sure they'll be happy to see you're not hurt anymore. I... um. Took care of that."

"Barry would have already been on top of trying to find out things. I swear the guy never sleeps." He held out his hand to help her up. "Yeah, about that, thank you. Guess I was pretty out of it wasn't I?"

"Sister Annabell was my godmother. She was a very... Kind woman. But I grew up rather sheltered as we lived with other Nuns and they were a little protective of me."
She takes his hand so she can pull herself up. "I.. It's all right Chris. We were all worried about you. I made sure you weren't infected."

"Claire probably feels the same way about how I was when she was in high school." He chuckled a little. "I'm amazed I didn't scare her into staying home."
"It was that bad? It didn't risk you did I?"
no subject
"I'll be fine. I just need to recharge my ring later," she says putting both hands up. "You didn't hurt me. I'm supposed to help you, Chris. It wouldn't have mattered if I was at risk. The Ring would have helped me."

"Hey, considering what's happened in the last day or two, don't play the fine card on me okay? And I might not get the whole thing with these yet, but I won't have you endangering yourself for me. Call it old fashioned if you want, but I don't like putting women in harm's way if I can avoid it." He sighed. "Just don't let Jill know I said that, she'd kick my ass." And Chris would let her, but only because she's Jill.

"Well Chris," she just has to try and keep this light if she can. "Food, some rest, and a recharge of my ring. It'll do me a world of good. Of course that means clearing my head.... my ring recharges differently than yours. We'll worry about your battery later, you've got me to help out with that for now if you need it."
no subject
"Not like I'm going to be using it for right now, and sounds like it's the right order." He lead the way to the kitchen. "You don't have any allergies do you?"
no subject
"Well I'm not even sure I dozed. I kept waking up. Maybe something will tire me out," she mutters softly. Then she shakes her head. "I'm good. I'm not allergic to anything Barry would have."
no subject
"Well good food should help put you to sleep. We'll stay close so if you wake up and need someone to talk to."
